But I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one. Solidarity for everyone still crying and/or staring at their computer in shocked disbelief over this episode ohHHH MY GOD.
Anyway, it sounds like the fandom’s imploding and I have a LOT of thoughts about what just happened, so HERE WE GO
To summarise beforehand: why I think Haru’s breakdown has been a long time coming, why I think Rin was right to go after him, why I think this scene BREAKS MY HEART. This is NOT a post babying Haru for what he did NOR is it a post demonizing Rin for his reactions.
(please feel free to delete my commentary if you reblog!)
Until this moment, Rin had been hoping that he would be able to keep swimming with Haru while following his dream. That - just like he told Sousuke - he would be able to have both, his friends and his dream. But Haru has just made him realize that he had been too hopeful.
Here Rin is basically realizing that no; he may not able to keep swimming with Haru, after all. And it’s a really, really poignant parallel to the moment where Haru himself thought he wouldn’t be able to swim with Rin again - and his reaction to that.
i find it quite interesting, that out of all Haru’s closest friends, Rin’s the only one who has opened eyes in this dream. Also he doesn’t look creepy at all, i’d even say he looks amazing with this halo around him, that looks like wings. His eyes demanding, gaze intense. But he’s just too bright and Haru covers his eyes. Does it mean that in Haru’s head Rin symbolizes future that calls him for decisions he’s too afraid and lost to make? And that’s why Rin is getting all of Haru’s pain when he breaks down, even if all that pressure wasn’t really coming from Rin in the first place.
being called annoying is literally the worst thing ever because then you’re scared to ever say or do anything again and you end up isolating yourself because you think everyone hates you and you feel insecure about everything. long story short pls dont call people annoying
